Saturday’s mammoth Bundesliga title showdown between Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig has had some extra spice added.
The two teams face off in east Germany with just a point separating them, and Leipzig in fine form after a superb summer window.
Part of their success in the transfer market has been down to sporting director Max Eberl, who has now been let go a day before the game.
The club confirmed the decision was due to Eberl ‘failing to commit’ to the club, which coincides with rumours Bayern are chasing him.
The Bavarian side have been without a sporting director since dismissing Hasan Salihamidžić at the end of last season, with Eberl one of the most highly-rated executives in the league.
