MANCHESTER UNITED fans labelled Harry Maguire the “GOAT” after a hilarious response on social media.
Maguire helped United beat Premier League rivals Arsenal 2-0 in a pre-season friendly on Saturday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
The centre-back took to Instagram and shared pics of himself in action against the Gunners as he expressed appreciation to the fans in the stands as most of them rooted for the Red Devils.
Maguire posted on Instagram: “Great start to the US tour, fans were amazing. Thank you.”
United also defeated the North Londoners in a penalty shootout after full-time.
All of the Manchester giants’ takers beat Aaron Ramsdale from the spot with Fabio Vieira missing and handing another victory to Erik ten Hag’s men.
But a fan took to the comments’ section and wondered why the England international didn’t take a shot against Arsenal.
And Maguire responded: “Didn’t want to break the camera.”
The 30-year-old was referring to the Euro 2020 Final, which went to penalties and saw Italy triumphing at Wembley.
The ex-Leicester star scored his spot-kick with such a powerful shot it broke the camera that was attached to the net.
Fans were left laughing their socks off with Maguire’s banter and praised him as the greatest of all time.
One fan posted: “Bully Maguire.”
Another commented: “Hahahah ledge.”
A third wrote: “That’s why he’s the GOAT.”
This fan said: “Ahh mate you are hilarious.”
And that one stated: “Real sigma.”
