De Gea’s contract expires on June 30 and the United board are yet to sign off on a new deal for the long-serving Spaniard despite personal terms initially being agreed.
The 32-year-old looked set to leave Old Trafford with Jordan Pickford being tipped to replace him earlier this month.
De Gea is understood to be open to staying at Man United, however, he was left off the club’s retained list.
He enjoyed a good 2022/23 season under Erik ten Hag having scooped up the Premier League Golden Glove award.
However, high-profile mistakes last season led to further questions about his future at the club.
De Gea’s ability with his feet has been cited as another reason why he may not be a good fit in Ten Hag’s system.

He was on Ajax’s books at for six years before joining Inter last summer, helping them to Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana success in his first season.
Onana has 34 caps for Cameroon to his name, representing them at the 2022 World Cup and two Africa Cup of Nations championships.
