According to Celebrity Net Worth, Megan Rapinoe, 38, has an estimated net worth of approximately $5million, as of July 2023.

Her main source of wealth is reportedly the income from her career as a soccer star.

She also income from brand endorsements and sponsorships.

She plays as a winger and captains the OL Reign of the National Women’s Soccer League, as well as the United States national team.

She is also known as an advocate for equal pay among the genders.

In a Twitter post made on July 8, 2023, Megan announced her retirement saying: “It is with a deep sense of peace & gratitude that I have decided this will be my final season playing this beautiful game.

“I never could have imagined the ways in which soccer would shape & change my life forever, but by the look on this little girl’s face, she knew all along.”

When did Megan Rapinoe become a Victoria’s Secret model?

Rapinoe was announced as one of the newest faces of Victoria’s Secret in June of 2021.

Victoria’s Secret will no longer promote their “Angels” supermodels as part of their marketing.

Martin Waters, the CEO of the lingerie brand, told The New York Times that a change was needed and that the traditional Angels were no longer “culturally relevant.”

He added: “I’ve known that we needed to change this brand for a long time.

“We just haven’t had the control of the company to be able to do it. We needed to stop being about what men want and to be about what women want.”

The brand announced its plans to work with a new group of women – including actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas and transgender model Valentina Sampaio.

Others newly signed up by the underwear company include freestyle skier Eileen Gu, plus-size model Paloma Elsesser, Sudanese-Australian model Adut Akech, and photographer Amanda de Cadenet.

The annual fashion show had seen a severe drop in viewership over several years.

What milestone did the US Soccer Federation reach in May 2022?

The US Soccer Federation was the first national gerning body to promise sexes equal pay, according to AP News.

The milestone agreement to pay men’s and women’s soccer teams equally was reached in May 2022.

The news comes after the federation and players agreed to settle a gender discrimination lawsuit brought by some of the players in 2019.

According to the outlet, “the settlement was contingent on the federation reaching labor contracts that equalized pay and bonuses between the two teams.”

One change coming about from the agreement regards World Cup prize money.

Differences in FIFA prize money over the years had women taking home much less than men, although the US women’s team has seen extreme international success.

World Cup prize money – which is based on how far a team advances in the tournament – will be pooled for the men’s 2022 World Cup in Qatar and Women’s 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The US forward Margaret Purce said: “I feel a lot of pride for the girls who are going to see this growing up, and recognize their value rather than having to fight for it.

“However, my dad always told me that you don’t get rewarded for doing what you’re supposed to do — and paying men and women equally is what you’re supposed to do,” she continued.

“So I’m not giving out any gold stars, but I’m grateful for this accomplishment and for all the people who came together to make it so.”
